OVERVIEW

Background

The shower serves as a private space with excellent acoustics, making it an ideal setting for singing enthusiasts.  People enjoy singing in their bathroom, and research indicates that this activity offers notable mental and physical health benefits, contributing to relaxation and happiness during this personal time. Bathroom Karaoke ensures an optimal singing experience, catering to those who seek the therapeutic effects of singing in the shower. By merging the joy of karaoke with the soothing aspects of bathing, this design aims to enhance individuals' overall well-being and enjoyment in their private moments.

IDEATION

Our process

The following are the main steps extracted to help understand the installation quickly.

We initially created two different shapes of light spheres and attempted two printing orientations: with the bottom facing up and with the top facing up. This was done to assess which orientation is more convenient for polishing.

Considering waterproofing, we also crafted an inner shell to house the LED strip and control board, placing them between the two shells.We attempted to connect the inner and outer shells together, but this proved inconvenient for the subsequent film coating process. Therefore, we have decided to proceed with separate manufacturing for better efficiency.

o achieve a transparent shell, we first 3D-printed a master model and smoothed it through polishing. Subsequently, we created positive and negative molds using silicone, and finally poured a transparent material to obtain a shell with a transparent texture.

CONCLUSION

Reflection

previous prototyping involved experimenting with manufacturing methods and sealing materials for waterproofing. Future development may focus on creating a versatile model for multiple shower heads, emphasizing the importance of learning mold-making and sealing techniques.

For electrical parts, we plan to incorporate additional lighting patterns, including a rainbow looping effect. Additionally, we intend to integrate a Bluetooth module for smartphone connectivity, enabling synchronization with music. Furthermore, we aim to utilize an L-shaped USB connector to allow ample space for debugging codes.
